Since August 2016, the Vielfalt-Forscher (Diversity Explorers) project has enabled children with and without refugee backgrounds to explore the concept of diversity together with the Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin.

Projects for Children

Vielfalt-Forscher

A project of the Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin
Project Duration: 15 August 2016 – 31 March 2025

Through the Vielfalt-Forscher project, children creatively explore diversity using all their senses. Together with artists and cultural professionals, they examine their everyday surroundings, neighborhoods, and the museum itself. Diversity can be found everywhere—from emotions and languages to stories, living beings, and nature.

The project uses various cultural education methods to provide children with access to this complex topic, empowering them to express their own confident perspectives on diversity.

Research Laboratory

The Labyrinth Kindermuseum itself becomes the stage for the project. Through regular events and workshops tied to exhibition themes and stations, the project engages young visitors and their families.

Research Expeditions

In addition to museum activities, diversity exploration extends into the city through partnerships with schools, daycare centers, and community organizations. Intensive project days and weeks with children from diverse backgrounds help establish lasting connections and new focal points for diversity education.

Research Results

In dialogue with each exhibition, the ideas and outcomes of the Vielfalt-Forscher are showcased to a wider audience. This seamless integration of project and exhibition work creates a dynamic learning experience.
