What was it like when Mum, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa were children? Where did they live? What did they experience? And which stories have stayed with their families over the years?
Children from the German-Italian Herman-Nohl-Schule in Berlin, a State European School, wanted to find out. As part of the “Hallo wir!” project, they asked their families about their childhoods, their memories and the places they once called home – and recorded their stories.
The result is a podcast by children for children, featuring memories from different countries, told in different languages and from many different places across Europe and beyond.
Listen to the stories and discover what a cheese dairy is, how a crocodile managed to sneak into a holiday photo, or why Castel dell’Ovo in Naples is still said to be protected by a magic spell.
Listen to the “Hallo wir!” podcast and join the children on a journey through time!
