Which exhibition is currently running at the Labyrinth Kindermuseum?
Our environmental exhibition, "Naturally Today! Get Involved for Tomorrow," is open until May 4, 2025. Click here for more information about the current exhibition.
What can I expect during a visit to an exhibition at the Labyrinth Kindermuseum?
Our exhibitions are interactive and experience-based, focusing on playful learning. Unlike traditional museums, all play and learning stations encourage hands-on exploration around the theme of the exhibition.
What is the structure of a group visit at the Labyrinth Kindermuseum?
The visit lasts two hours. Upon arrival, your group will be welcomed and assigned a shelf for your belongings. You will gather on our break staircase for a short introduction. Afterward, children are free to explore the exhibition. Our team is available to assist or offer group activities as needed. About 15 minutes before the visit ends, everyone gathers on the staircase for a group wrap-up. There’s also time for restroom visits and getting ready to leave.
How can I prepare or follow up on my visit with my group?
You can find details about exhibition topics and displays on our website. Additionally, we offer free downloadable educational materials for primary school classes.
Does the exhibition cater to different age groups?
Yes, our exhibitions provide a wide range of play and learning opportunities, ensuring there’s something suitable for every age group.
Will older children be present during visits with younger groups?
We strive to organize group visits by age, such as only daycare groups or school classes per session. In rare cases, groups may overlap. Older children are reminded to be considerate of younger visitors.
Do I need to stay with my group, or can children explore independently?
Children are free to explore independently. However, we find that accompaniment by caregivers often leads to deeper engagement with the exhibition topics and enhances the overall experience.
Do adults need to remove their shoes?
Yes, everyone must remove their shoes for hygiene reasons. Please bring slippers, grip socks, or indoor shoes. Shoe covers can be borrowed at the ticket desk for a refundable deposit.
Can children bring snacks?
Yes, children can bring food and drinks. A short break for snacks on the staircase after about an hour is recommended. Eating and drinking are only allowed in the café area or on the break staircase.
Is there a coffee machine on-site?
Yes, a coffee machine is available, along with tap water.
Can we stay longer or leave earlier?
Staying longer isn’t possible due to the fixed two-hour time slots needed to prepare for subsequent groups. Leaving earlier is possible but disrupts the schedule and may cause distractions. Please coordinate early departures with our team.
Is the museum accessible for children with mobility impairments?
Yes, but accessibility is limited. The exhibition spans two levels (ground floor and first floor), and the first floor is only accessible by stairs. Our staff can assist in transporting wheelchairs to the upper level.
What is the cost of a group visit?
The cost is €5.00 per person for registered groups (2 accompanying adults free).
Do accompanying parents need to pay admission?
Yes.
Does the museum have air conditioning?
No.
Is there a labyrinth at the museum?
No, there is no labyrinth.
